What to Do When: Crisis and Suicidal Ideation at Work
If you’ve ever had a co-worker or employee experience a mental health crisis on the job, or have had a co-worker express suicidal thoughts, you know how scary it can be. This presentation will help you to prepare for just such an experience so you can respond in a way that is safe, helpful and respectful. We’ll identify step-by-step guidelines for how to respond in the event of a mental health crisis, as well as ways to de-escalate when speaking with someone who is in crisis. And because prevention is the best cure, we will also discuss ways to decrease the likelihood of crisis by implementing workplace wellness practices.
